Summer time means fun outdoor parties! From picnics in the park, a backyard BBQ or down at the beach. You don’t have to break the bank to find creative ways to make your party one to remember! Here are some examples of ways put some creativity in a budget friendly way!
For a beach themed party, create a snack stand, use colorful plastic beach buckets in primary colors and shovels to serve food. Grab a pack of waxed baking cups and write young guests names on them, so they can fill them up with their favourite snack options and keep refilling, this will help you save on rubbish and costs. For decorations use blow up beach balls, a large striped beach towel for the table clothes and match with rainbow colored tableware and gifts for guests.
For a Garden party with a twist, head to a local park this Summer and set up a Lemonade Stand or Ice cream Stand. Create a Sweets Buffet and incorporate Citrus colours of Summer, green, yellow with a touch blue to the mix. Pom Poms are a great way to dress up any occasion, be they tissue paper or tulle, they definitely add a lot of fun and can be hung from trees and bushes. Use wooden crates, metal watering cans and buckets to add some simple styling to your showcase your treats.
If a backyard BBQ is on the tables, then there are plenty of ways to make it fun with drinks from glass jars with retro straws, add some blackboard chalk labels to ensure everyone knows which drink is theirs, and also add to the food table. Hessian material and red gingham to the serving table, with lanterns or garlands hung from underneath the outdoor umbrella are simple but effective ways to add some styling touches. Cut watermelon into triangles and add to pop sticks for kids, as healthy oversized lollipops, mini burgers and layered mini salads served in noodle boxes, wrap twine around wooden cutlery to create a bit of fun.
Whatever parties and occasions you decide to host or celebrate this Summer, a few party pieces and props, can take it from an ordinary affair to one that’s memorable! Nikki Eyes – little Ginger.
